ABOUT  ME

I was born and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia.

I had a more-or-less Anglo-Saxon education: I did my 'A-level' in Singapore, before reading physics at the University of Cambridge. I subsequently did my PhD in applied physics at the coolest lab in Harvard: Joanna Aizenberg's.

Joanna's group is mostly interested biomimetics.

I am now a staff scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore.

My research interests are in wetting phenomena, fluid mechanics, and fluid-solid interactions. I enjoy taking beautiful scientific images, some of which can be found in this website.

Life is dreary as it is, and it is my conviction that Science should be made as beautiful as humanly possible.

When I am not in the lab, I can be found running by the Singapore river, or in the kitchen cooking French food and baking no-knead bread.

Education:

BA in Physics (1st Class Hons), University of Cambridge, 2011

PhD in Applied Physics, Harvard University, 2017
